What is Entrepreneurship?

𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲.

Harvard Business School describes entrepreneurship as “𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘶𝘪𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭.”

You spot a gap in the market, an unmet need, or a better way of doing things, and you decide to chase it, even if you don’t have all the capital, people, or tools yet.

You build as you go. You adapt, you make mistakes, and you keep moving because the opportunity is worth it.

When I founded Perfectly Hedged LLC, I didn’t have endless capital or a big team behind me. What I did have was an idea: that risk management and hedging knowledge shouldn’t be locked away behind jargon or closed doors.

I believed - and still believe - that when companies truly understand how to manage price risk, they unlock value that goes far beyond just protecting margins.
It leads to better decisions, stronger relationships, and more resilient businesses.

So I did what every entrepreneur does, I started with what I had - experience, a laptop, and a problem that needed solving.

Perfectly Hedged has grown since then - a book, an online learning platform, partnerships with the London Metal Exchange - but the mission stays the same:
𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸. 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲. 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿.
