I'll be honest โ€” I'm a massive fan of Excel. It's powerful, relatively easy to use, and you can explain what's on screen to almost anyone without needing a degree in programming. But when it comes to ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜€๐—ธ ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜, Excel has its limits.

To get the most value out of your hedging strategies, you need a system thatโ€™s ๐—ฎ๐˜‚๐˜๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฑ and can, at the click of a button, show your ๐—ณ๐˜‚๐˜๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€ ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—ฝ๐—ต๐˜†๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€, ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ต๐˜๐˜€ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐˜€. Thatโ€™s the only way to know with confidence that youโ€™re properly hedged.

But to truly maximize the value that hedging offers, you have to go further. Being able to view hedges on a ๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ-๐—ฏ๐˜†-๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ ๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—น enables accurate ๐—ฃ&๐—Ÿ ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด. It also allows you to ๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ธ ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฑ๐—ด๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ค๐—ฃ๐˜€ โ€” and this is what delivers value on a daily basis.

I've seen some ๐—ฎ๐˜„๐—ณ๐˜‚๐—น ๐—–๐—ง๐—ฅ๐— ๐˜€ in my time, and I've seen some excellent ones. But the key point is this: your system needs to be ๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—น๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—ฏ๐˜‚๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€ so that you can capture your risk accurately, avoid losses, and unlock tangible value.

If youโ€™re relying on manual workarounds and shortcuts, you probably need a new system. As painful as that change can be, trust me, your business will be better off in the long run.
